Airports Authority of India (AAI) and SAIL (Steel Authority of India Ltd ) have signed a MoU for operating the remote airports of Burnpur, Rourkela and Bokaro under UDAN scheme. These airports are mainly patronized by SAIL employees as SAIL steel is the fulcrum of these cities. According to MoU, AAI will provide technical guidance and support, while SAIL will bear all the cost of terminal maintenance and operations. The MoU agreement is valid for a period of three years and will be reviewed after 3 years with mutual consent.
